It’s Freeland week at Noiseporn. We’ve got some great news for you. I don’t know which to do first. So I’ll list it and then you can take a pick.
1. Freeland has settled out with the Black Eyed Peas in court after their blatant sampling of the track Mancry; we covered this in July this year, take a peek and listen for yourself.
2. Adam has been kind enough to lend us a freebie in the form of Siriusmo’s remix of Rock On, which is a killer track.
Anyway, I’ve made my decision and we’ll start with the brief report of Freeland vs. BEP. A few weeks ago, Freeland tweeted that he had settled the dispute over The Black Eyed Peas unlicensed sampling of his track Mancry. I (and the community) also expressed a heavy support for Team Freeland to fight, and lo and behold, Freeland have come out on top, settling with BEP in court for an undisclosed amount.
Personally, I’m over the moon to hear about this win. Makes my day much nicer. It’s actually been quite cool here in Brisbane; although that has nothing to do with this.
Moving on!
Adam has sent over a bunch of remixes of the brilliant Cope; nicely titled Cope Remixed, this one comes full (I mean FULL) of great remixes and star powered talent. Spanning from the minimalistic techno side of things with Gui Boratto’s gorgeous retake of Mancry (Samples cleared and all) to Nosaj Thing’s airy, broken beated remix of Rock On to the low slung metallic lead synths and bassline of Emalkay’s remix of Rock On.
This package is absolutely well worth picking up for the vastness of talent and the quality of the remixes contained on the release; like it’s mother album, it really does show off a great knack for cross-over awesomeness. You can preview and buy the 23 track pack from Beatport now! I highly recommend it, and also, do your best to pick up the original album as well. It’s kinda awesome.
Now for the freebie.

WOW a 128 Kbps freebee! Must be heaven sent…
If you’re gunna bitch about the bitrate, go buy the fucking album. It’s a great track, just bought the remix album on Beatport. Quality post, Bleekster!
I’m a sucker for good quality tracks, 320 is awesome, but sometimes we’re not as fortunate to receive the good graces of quality infused tracks, sometimes we’re given what we’re given. I can understand that 128 isn’t exactly the gods lending us a golden trophy but it’s still a free track nonetheless.
However; thanks for the input! Always striving to do better.
Freeland is playing in Reno,NV this weekend! Stoked as fuck
Thx for the track!
EZ Bleekster, I don’t blame you or noiseporn for this ;)
I just don’t like it when artists or labels pretend to offer you a great gift when you can’t really do anything with it… On the other hand, the majority of “new” dj’s who play mostly free (and/or pirated) music don’t even know or care about the difference in HQ or LQ versions, they just play it out, not to mention their mixing and set-building skills… So, no worries for Noiseporn ;)
