The high octane tunes of Californian producer/DJ extrordinare Sticky K are certainly not to be overlooked. I’m almost ashamed to admit that I wasn’t clued up on him until his tunes arrived in my inbox (what with him having remixed such heavyweights as Crookers, Royksopp and Daft Punk amongst others, in addition to doing a guest mix for Kissy’s BBC show earlier in the year), but having heard him I’m definitely going to keep my ear to the ground for more.
His style is hard to pidgeonhole as each remix has its own distinctive feel and sound. Needless to say, they’re high pitched, fast paced, and very good. His own productions are also top-class, and you can check ‘em over out at his MySpace (I’d especially recommend ‘The Weirdo’, which you can also find as part of his 20 minute BBC mix right here).
Daft Punk – Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger (Sticky K Remix)
Crookers – Put Your Hands On Me (Sticky K Remix)
Major Lazer – Jump Up ft. Superhype (Sticky K Remix)
