We hear that Florence (or more specifically The Machine’s) instruments have just gone up in flames just before a gig in Germany. “You could hear the harp’s strings ping in the fire. Strange sound. We recorded it and I want to use it in a song,” the lead singer said.
Well if you’re not going to be hearing Florence & The Machine performing live for a while, you’ll have to satisfy yourself with this remix by omnipresent The XX. Trip-hop-esque and sprinkled with the sugary vocals from Miss. Welch, it’s a downbeat bit of genius.
Also check out the P.E.S.T. remix below – this has to be one of my favourite tracks to put on my iPod as I’m walking out the flat and feeling overly dramatic. Don’t know too much about these guys, apparently their a more-underground-than-most UK outift with a penchant for euphoric build-ups and out-of-body chanting. Or something.
