What the hell is going on in the apartment above me? From the consistent soft thuds, each followed by a deafening crash, I’m pretty sure my neighbours have just started up Shanghai’s first elephant abattoir. And it’s making working pretty difficult this morning, so I’m glad to be able to whack on Glide & Swerve at top volume to wash away their racket in a warm fuzz of chilled-out goodness.
These guys started life as party-promoters in Hong Kong and then moved back to the UK a few years back to hone their particular brand of Balearic chill. Their new album, Bring Back Love, is the soundtrack to a Sunday afternoon spent in ‘recovery’. Forthcoming single, ‘And I Smile’, is one of the album’s vocal tracks, and is currently being played by specialist radio shows including that of French whiz, Laurent Garnier. Enjoy!
