Last Japan

Word in from Last Japan, who London ravers can catch down at Inigo, Clapham, on Saturday night.

It wasn’t long after graduating from Guildford Music School when the labels came knocking for a slice of this rising stars remix magic. Reworking Crystal Fighters debut single ‘Xtatic Truth’ with killer results for Kitsune opened the flood gates to a steady flow of official remix work.

Now with remixes under his belt for Southern Fried Records on Diplo & Laidback Luke, Brondinski & Mumdance and Tonka, Last Japan is delivering reworks on the same producers which spawned his love for the electro scene just a few years back.

What joins all these tracks up? They’re RAVEY. The Dean Tynan remix is fast-paced and furious house music for the biggest of big rooms. Soft Toy Emergency’s “Critical” sounds like it might have turned down the road of glitzy pop anthem but Last Japan rips it up into a steadily building techno-infused monster. And the almost-confused cut-up rhythms of Jack Track build up on top of a old-skool vocal into a brooding underground anthem.
