We’ve got some lovely exclusive cuts for you today from French producer The Deficient. We normally start with the tunes and hit you with the mixtape later down the line, but it’s Opposites Day so first up it’s the mix.
It shows off his style of Dutch house and “Zulu house” with some cut-up tribal rhythms interspliced with some bleepy electro. A great selection that we’ve been playing since we got it last night.

Apart from the mix, there’s also his remix of “Pon De Floor” which messes up with the melody a bit and takes the whole thing down a more percussive route. With support from the likes of Sinden, Tommie Sunshine, Larry Tee, Keith, Supabeatz, Bryan Cox, Lazy Flow, Acid Jacks, Lorcan Mak and more, you’d be mad to file this away with all the other Major Lazer remixes, definitely a stand-out.

And in keeping with the worldly theme, we’ve also got his remix of “Kid Conga,” a track from the last EP of Man Recordings’s main man, Daniel Haaksman. This one is a mix of Dutch house and baile funk to remind you of the young Brasilian MC who’s singing on the original track.
