Another heads up for any readers here in Edinburgh: As you’ve probably guessed from the flier above, on the 16th October, The Cabaret Voltaire are going to be hosting new night Axis, headlined by none other than Canadian electro duo Jokers Of The Scene! And if you’re not familiar with them, let me give you a little taster in the form of two quality free tracks for you all. First up is their take on Burns – Turbo, with it’s raw, dirty synth-driven basslines, which give way to haunty melodic buildups, only to throw you straight back into the deep end.

Next we’ve got the darker, brooding sounds of their Mika – We Are Golden (Jokers Of The Scene ‘Are Not Who You Think They Are’) remix. It’s got an almost menacing undertone permeating the entire track, sending shivers down my spine!

Axis is proud to present Jokers Of The Scene. Their recent remixes for the likes of Mika, Acid Girls and Burns have been making waves in forward-thinking DJ sets and charts alike. But it’s their original tune “Baggy Bottom Boys” that has become a signature anthem – an enormous dance track that’s as moody as it is ecstatic.
