According to French triphop pioneer Wax Tailor, there’s only one way to solve the CD – vinyl war (if it’s even still going on?). Do both.
Compared to the likes of Portishead, RJD2 or DJ Shadow, his laidback attitude to acid jazz, hip hop and soul sounds like the building blocks of a DJ Yoda mix with slightly more musical substance.
So how’s he doing both on the wax / vinyl thing? Well his latest album is coming out on a CD that you can also play on a turntable. Or is that a record you can also play in a CD player? Who knows, who cares – it’s a great idea.

I’m glad that France gave birth to such an incredible artist. The mix of violin and hip hop groove with a touch of vintage is sensational!(listen to “Dry Your Eyes”).
