It is a special thing when I receive a bunch of tracks that completely blow me away. Nadisko have done exactly that. As soon as I played the first track, ‘I am’, I had this excited feeling that I only get when I hear an absolute BANGER!
Nadisko are a hot new duo based in Sydney and I must say they are simply fantastic. Their sound sits somewhere in between Boys Noize and the Proxy which means as heavy as F***. Nadisko are set to be playing Trashbags when they bring back LALA land for a one-off long weekend party at Oxford Art Factory, which inevitably means big things. Though currently unsigned they already have big plans and are looking to book gigs in the USA and Europe, which I forsee shall be a big success.
‘Smokin” has to be one of my favourite tracks – it seamlessly builds from a very cool abrasive beat into a real floor filler. The distorion is perfect and sounds as if they picked up ‘Dirt from the sidewalk of Sydney’ and put it directly into their tracks. These tracks are filthy dancefloor beasts!!! ‘I am’ is another standout track featuring some great drops and relentless electro riffs with what can only be described as some kind of robotic uprising chant!!!
How long will it be until these guys become household names? I don’t know, however I feel that it isn’t too far away!
