Cagedbaby has a new single coming out on April 26th called “Forced” and believe us when we say this tune was made for the big room. It’s a proper anthem with soaring vocals, rocky synths and a huge build-up that just makes you wanna grab your tent and hit a festival. We managed to blag an interview with the UK producer on his way back from Austria, plus we’ve got the Foamo remix of the track for you to download for free. Thanks to Southern Fried Records for that!
Fresh back from Snowbombing, how was that? You missed the start of summer in the UK!
Man Snowbombing was amazing, not sure if i’m fresh though, pretty hardcore week of partying and boarding, best weeks fun i’ve had for years, all my clan were out there and it was their 10th birthday so it was full on party mode from touchdown. I played a set in a massive igloo cum ice hotel 2000 metres up a mountain that was pretty special, and was one of the closing acts at the 10th party in a forest with 2ManyDJs and Beardyman, and yeah just got home to all the trees in leaf, i love this time of the year we have all summer to look forward to.
So Forced is a pretty epic track, built for the big room no? What’s been your favourite euphoric clubbing experience over the years?
Forced is a pretty big tune production wise, over 150 stems went into making it, thats why s sounds so wide, i just couldnt finish it so kept on adding more and more to it. its kinda built for the big room, but more built for radio and playing live. Euphoircally theres been so many moments over the last 2 years, the first set i did on the space terrace in ibiza was pretty euphoric for me, its a kinda, ‘yes’ moment, calculated for maximum euphoria.
You’re from Brighton, what is it about that place which generates so much new talent?
Brightons always been a special town, very difficult to put your finger on it. Coastal towns are always a but grungy and that attracts artists i think a lot of the fuss comes from its proximity to london and the artists that overspill South, but yes for such a small place it does seem to have a wealth of talent. Brightons been in and out of fashion more times than Tom Jones..
What are your plans for Summer 2009?
Summers in full swing already at babytowers. i’m doing a lot of club shows over the summer and looking forward to my parties in ibiza (they are alwasy my highlight) Rockness is the next festival i’m looking forward to which is june 8th on the shores of Rockness, playing the main stage friday night so cant wait for that , its a stunning setting.
