Azzido Da Bass got in touch a while back wanting to do a mix for Noise Porn and it has just materialised. From Hamburg, this DJ/producer was first thrown into the heady world of dance music during the early ’90s when Carl Cox gave him a cassette featuring a load of remixes. How’s that for a muse?!
The tape caught his imagination and by 2000 he had teamed up with Stevo Wilcken to release Dooms Night (see the Laidback Luke remix above), which stormed that year’s Love Parade. After Timo Maas remixed the tune, it hit No. 8 in the UK charts. Eight years on he’s still one of the most revered names in house/techno and this mix is proof that he still cuts it when it comes to cutting-edge dance music.
