You get some of the most Slammin, most versitile, most out of control tunes to hit the clubs this YEAR! Take a look with us at some of the most influential releases to soon hit the club and chime in with who your looking at in 08 and look forward to in 09!

Leeroy Thornhill’s new label Electric Tastebuds Brings us their 2nd release in a very short period of time! Man, this one is one for the books too with a smashing tune from Jagged Slap and a nothing short of EPIC remix from bad bwoys The Wrongstars! This ones available November 17th and your gonna want to be ALL OVER THIS ONE!
Jagged Slap – 10 Pence Short: Leeroy Thornhill has joined forces with Joe Morena to bring you “Jagged Slap”! These two have created an electro, breaks sound that is sure to be a hit and they give you ‘10 Pence Short’ to prove it. This tune starts with a bangin beat and a HUGE feel to it as mid bass roars thru the mix and electro stabs run rich! This is a big mover of a tune and you can tell from beat one that these fellas are NOT messing around. the breakdown brings electro flavored vocal stabs and a winding buildup before dropping into a medium paced mover of a tune. This tune is wicked to say the least and will surely find its way into sets all across the spectrum.
Jagged Slap – 10 Pence Short (Wrongstars RmX): I should say from the get go that this tune made me giddy at first sight. The Wrongstars album was MASSIVE and I’ve been a big fan since! The Wrongstars keep it real without a doubt as they remix this stormer from Jagged Slap and as soon as the breakdown drops you too will remember the wicked ability possessed by this group of miscreants. The bass has been juiced up for this remix with an electric feel and big time edits that are sure to get bodies surging on the floor! This is a perfect compliment to the original and is my pick of the two based on my bass craving, low frequency fetish.
This release certainly slates in stone the surefire success of former Prodigy star Leeroy Thornhill’s label ‘Electric Tastebuds’! Don’t forget to check out the first release ‘Smash hifi – Everything you need’ and watch for this one to hit about mid November. HOT SHIT!

This year just doesn’t stop with new and exciting labels coming to us even as the year closes out! This time we have the privilege of bringing to you German based label Furioso. This label will focus on breakstep/breakbeat garage, but also crosses the borders of dubstep, nuskool breaks, 2step, and speed garage. The aim is bass heavy music with much dancefloor appeal and they hit the nail right on the head with their first release from T.R.O.
T.R.O. – Like This: This tune is absolutely SLAMMIN! Heavy strings and massive swells bring in a solid groove as the tune warms up and after a short break styled edit heavy plugging bass keeps the tune moving with a energy that just don’t stop. The first breakdown is a funky one and as the percussion builds to a drop the dancefloor is sure to bust into a frenzy. The arrangement is a unique one and the styles run rich thru this tune as, like the label aims to do, heavy dub flavor along with a constant funky vibe keeps this tune fresh and exciting. This is a big biz tune and Im already a HUGE fan of both Furioso and T.R.O!!!!!
T.R.O. – Super Chrome Class: Here we start on a bit of a darker vibe still full of classy percussion and a presence that T.R.O. seems to be a master of. An early break brings in even more heavy dark grooves and its already very apparent the heavy Dub step influences that run thru this first release from Furioso. This tune is the darker side and will be a smash with the heavier breaks djs along with anyone who likes their tunes to have some edge!
Furioso steps up with this first one in a BIG way and, for those of you who haven’t noticed the pull that breaks has been getting lately from styles like dub step, 2 step and garage to name a few, this will be a big indication of how next year and the sound of breaks alone is progressing. We aint dead….were just evolving. Breaks has always been the chameleon of the dance world, for ever borrowing and continuing to be influenced by styles that continue to step up the game. Furioso knows this and has stepped up the game BIG TIME! Keep an eye out! This one hits December 1st!

Wheeeewwwwww!!! What a WEEK! I was really excited to get this one in the inbox as its been making HUGE rounds from a select few and how can you ever go wrong with ID OR Big Monster? That’s right you CAN’T! Slap on top of that a slamming remix from label boss High8 and you’ve got one hell of a release from the Re:Connect camp. This one is ridiculous……
ID – Mission: This tune is nothing short of brilliance. ID has such a flavor and style to his madness that it really can’t be touched. This tune doesn’t waste a second as it drops into a breakdown that is drowning in bass and as it builds you can crank up the Wobble knob as you dance around the room! This is a massive, massive tune and you really can’t go wrong with it regardless of whether your spinning tear out, a nuskool set, or even a slightly more tame set. This tune is a sure fire crowd mover and NOT one to be missed!
ID – Mission (Id’s House Mix): The same can be expected from this “Big Monster”, pun intended. This mix gets graced by a stead 4/4 kik and a bit more of a funky vibe to start off the mix. This mix pretty much ensures that no matter what your game is, ID’s Mission is one that you can’t afford to miss out on. This ones still a good bit breaky, still a hella bit wobbly, and still just as SLAMMING as you could want it to be. Big TINGS ID!!! BIG TINGS!
Id – Mission (High Eight’s Acid Breaks RmX): Big man in charge High Eight never fails with his HUGE remixes of some of the labels HOTTEST releases! This go around see’s Neil injecting a heavy acid feel into a already banging tune. Subtle crunchy distortion and a bit more funk in the drums makes this a well rounded addition to this release from Re:Connect and any fan of High Eights sound would not be upset to know that the label boss himself took on remix duties on this one!
This is a long awaited release from the Re:Connect camp and sure to be a BIG hit this year as we round out the 08 and gear up for some SLAMMING end of the year parties and a whole new year of the reborn and ever changing breaks scene. This one is on shelves soon and your gonna want to make a note of this one!
Re:Connect also has a newly designed website and is offering a FREE mix from Boomslang resident “That Girl Dj”.. make sure to grab it up! Its sure to be slammin!
