New Queens English Album “EQ”

Posted under News, Reviews by J.Woot on Thursday 28 August 2008 at 11:11 pm

Queens English is a UK Hip Hop group who have a new album set for release called “EQ”.  This was my first time even hearing of them and so far I have listened to the album 2 times all the way thru!  This is a wonderful album full of crafty turntable work, extremely catchy lyrics, and a great range of track styles.  This 17 track album comes correct with all types of tunes from the catchy and mellow ”Just” to the abrasive styled “Triple F”.  I find this album to be very versatile in the sense that it has pretty much something for everyone.  Even if UK hip hop isn’t your thing, theres a song on this album you’ll like.  The beats on the album are at most times simple, yet very infectious.  I strongly recommend checking this album out and be sure to stop by their myspace @ www.myspace.com/queensenglish  and theres some pretty cool videos you can check out right here…..

And finally we have RDubz, who Noise Porn trumpetted a while back for his electro-house offerings (featured on the below download), and who has now produced his first long player with astonishing results. Some of the tracks are a bit too Euro-sounding (be warned!), but especially watch out for Rock The Static, (polished electro-house anthem) and Open Your Mind (late night spaced-out electro house with haunting piano breakdown)

It’s free and all 320 -

End of August tunes

Posted under MP3 by Noise Porn on Sunday 17 August 2008 at 10:02 pm

Hi all, thanks for everyone who’s been voting in the remix competition below, well over 250 votes so far and Casual Bill looking to perform well as things stand. Here’s some musical goodness to keep all the cheapskates happy.

First up it’s 3 Is A Crowd with this Roots Manuva remix they kindly sent over. They’ve been busy, with their remix of classic techno track “Dominator” by Human Resource on Bryan Cox’s Crux Records! Also, their first single “Take It Back” is about to come out on September on fresh A New Hope Records. The release will be well complimented by remixes from Rico Tubbs, Stupid Fresh, Kelevra and 2 Bit Thugs.

Roots Manuva - Buff Nuff (3IAC Remix).mp3

Next up it’s breakbeat duo UWFO with this minimal breaks sound, already getting some good online exposure through NuSkoolBreaks.co.uk and winning competitions here and there, put them on your watch list!

UWFO - The Unresolved.mp3

Next get yourselves behind this fidget electro from Mom & Dad which deserves a better grade than it’s title suggests! With just one year of production experience, Mom & Dad is a 19 year old producer from the city of Los Angeles. He’s currently enjoying well-earned support from Noise Porn heroes like Foamo, Bryan Cox,  Edu K, and more.

Finally, it’s the nostril smarting sound of Mustard Pimps, with the following electronic music goodness

Bloom Festival - Noise Porn recommends!

Posted under News by Noise Porn on Sunday 3 August 2008 at 10:26 pm

Coming to a muddy field near Cheltenham next weekend is the UK’s latest great small festival - Bloom!

Last year, some mates went to it near Bath in Somerset, I heard good things. The line-up tends towards the underground, with some scene favourites and some local heroes all thrown in together. Cast your eye down below and see what you think. This year it’s moved to a bigger site near Cheltenham, and like all good festival experiences, is brimming with those added extras like the arts and crafts market, a dedicated Kids Zone, a Healing Area aptly named the “Vegetable Patch” and a refreshingly good selection of hand-picked organic food stands.

Best of all, tickets are an overdraft friendly £85!!
