Today’s Album Review is of a down Tempo/LeftField/housey album out on Muti records. This is Timonkey - Cerulea. Propper tunage, definitely worth getting!!!

1. Always- This is the proper mellow way to start a Album off, very nice soft grooving drums. The tune comes off in a very hip hop type of groove and some beautiful vocals spattered through out. After a few minutes it steps into a nice warm 4/4 beat and picks up some great textures. This is a really fun track all in all and made for an excellent set up to this Album. Great work!

2. Telephasic- This tune picks up with a super hot glitched feel that quickly got me jammin! Precise pan work gives this tune a HUGE space to it while staying very sharp and perfectly glitchy. Short Little jam session of a track that definitely shows this Artists Abilities off well!!

3. Condensation- Time for a HOT hip hop infused number that again has some serious groove to it!!! Addictive hooks, propper glitch and some nice scratch work have this tune being right where you want it. I’ll be listening to this tune for a long time to come.

4. Back To The One (feat. Joss-i On Tabla)- Nice stabby keys and a warm drum line bring this tune in nice and slow. Nice vocal hooks and prominent pads and various textures make this a well rounded tune. Its has a great feel to it and the first thing I felt about this song was what a great place to be at for number 4 on an album. Very well planned and while not as forward moving as the past 3 may have been, a great song. Timonkey has already done a fantastic job in the first 4 tunes to already have me convinced of his skills as a producer!

5. Lights In The Sky-Another fun tune with a great B-line and some wikki wikki. A real hip hop type of tune with some random stabs of stuff and a cool groove to it that I can only explain as some type of throat singing or something. Really unique tune, a short one at just about 3 min.

6. The Ripest Fruit (feat. Blink on Turntable)- A mellow approach now with soulful piano and nice TT work from Blink! A great whompy b-line kicks in and this tune is a head nodder extraordinaire! Just about half way trough this album and I’m already a new Timonkey fan!

7. Module Two- A HARD hitter here! This tune was the one on the album that made me turn it up A well called for Breakdown takes you into a grooving affair with some solid drums yet a again. This man has a nack for creating some excellent textures into his tunes! It picks up all again with some whacked out sax style stabs and keeps on rockin after a nice journey of a breakdown!! This tune is great in that it is ,while amongst many other genre’s of tunes, an extremely Progressive tune, that now lets us know Timonkey not only has great ability, but class as well!

8. Thought Bubbles (feat. Somesh on Viola)- Time for some more Downtempo intro goodness this time with a great string work thanks to Somesh! This tune builds up to a jammin upbeat number that has some great content! The Viola skills are on point, and are pretty much the heart and soul of this 3 and a half min tune.

9. Spacious- Now we smooth on out for number 9 in this journey. This tune has once again that classic solid texture you’ve aught to by now come to expect from Timonkey! Great forward moving track with some great leads and as the name suggests lots of space and presence to it. Another great addition to Timonkeys “I can do THIS well too” attitude on this album, haha. I love it!!

10. Azure- Great way to continue to take this album to new places while still slowing things down as we near the album!! The glitch feel is back, but with a great “relaxed” feel to it! The angle continues to go towards a smoother, mellowed out feel, while still being exciting and of course well done. Great tune

11. Protophonic- Picking up just a little this time timonkey has actually showed us that he can do yet MUCH more with texture and the likes! Now he’s created a whole tune who’s hook is its texture! Its a groovy one too! nice hip hop style drums and lots of space and glitches once again make this another excellent addition to the album, and a nice surprise as you would expect the album to still be rolling down. That’s all I have to say….

12. Ucopia- A great way to take a stroll back toward the door on the way out from this album. Still tons of stuff going on. Things never get to that “boring” outro to an album that you would expect they do in a mainly downtempo/Leftfield album. I like this tune for its “epic” feel. A great tune!

13. Five Kingdoms- As we head into the last tune in this AMAZING album from Timonkey its in the form of a down tempo number. Nice up beat drums and bass stabs make it a nice way to cap off such a good album. Not a whole lot to speak of in the tune.

This is one hell of an amazing album from Muti music with Timonkey absolutely PWNing every tune in a way that showcases many, many talents! This CD will have a spot in my player for a LONG time to come!

Thanks for the great review and for supporting a Timonkey, he’s an artist I’m also really excited about. Just a heads up though that it’s on ‘Muti Music’, not ‘Multi Music’ ;)
all the best and liking this Blog :)
